Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes ‘Forbes’ 1st Football Billionaire

Cristiano Ronaldo has been officially announced by forbes as the 1st football billionaire alongside fellow sporting Athlete Floyd Mayweather and Tiger woods.

The 35 year old, was tagged the highest-paid footballer in 2020, according to forbes.

He is also the highest earning athlete in lockdown after making nearly £1.9 million on Instagram with a total of 429.3 million followers across all his social media platforms, alongside his $65 million annual salary and bonus at current club.

Ronaldo made $105 million overall in 2020 including $45 million from Nike, Altice, herbalife and his owned CR7 brand, he made $1 million more than long-time rival lionel messi, who collected $32 million from endorsement and $72 million from his salary/winnings.

Ronaldo didn’t made it to the top spot on Forbes list, he was pipped to the top by Roger Federer, an acclaimed 20-time Grand slam winner made his way to the top for the first time with huge total of $106.3 million earned.

The likes of Neymar, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Tiger Woods, Kirk Cousins and Carson Wentz stand on the top ten, while Tyson Fury, Conor McGregor, Lewis Hamilton, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua made it to the list alongside others.
